Gap Insurance
by admin
Every vehicle undergoes the depreciation process. It is a normal economic event touching every sold and used good; a fact of life. Recently, however, one sort of insurance has grown quite popular in the insurance market. It is often being referred to as RTI (standing for Return to Invoice) insurance or shortfall cover. What is the difference and what makes it so special? It can protect the driver against depreciation because it goes back to the car’s invoice value. As in case of all other gap insurance policies, it will provide protection against any financial loss which may happen or incur as a consequence of the vehicle being a write off due to an accident, fire or theft.

Even though it is not the best of times in terms of having spare cash available, I guess that you only live once and whilst you do – you must enjoy it! Therefore, I am thinking about upgrading my car to something a bit more fuel efficient whilst keeping in line with a car that looks the business. Fortunately, I have managed to save a little bit, which was going to be used for a “rainy day”. Well, this week we are expecting rain and so I have set aside a little time to conduct some research and visit a few dealerships to see what cars they have on offer. As things stand within the automotive industry, I am at slight advantage in terms of buying as it seems the cost of cars; new and used has decreased as a result of the financial instability surrounding the country. So, I am hoping to get a good deal even though it may be that I receive less of a value for my current car that I wish to exchange. However I am sure there will be something to suit. Part of me was thinking to wait until March next year in the hope that the markets will have settled down a little. However, I am in the mood for buying and a few cars have tickled my fancy lately when passing me on the motorway. Therefore, a trip down to the local Citroen and Renault garages seems to be the thinking but before I do – a little research online won’t do any harm........ Well I am definitely buying used – not new. Whilst I am keen for an upgrade, I don’t wish to just throw my money away. Therefore, the used cars section is where I shall ply my trade over the next few days. The Renault Megane is a car that I have admired for a while, albeit from a distance and so this will be one of the cars that obtain my ultimate focus.

Is Volkswagen the next big manufacturer to be hit by the stalling market climate? We know that as a whole, the commercial vehicles / used vans business sector has been hit by the financial demise but it is being reported that Volkswagen may be due to experience slower growth for 2008 than compared to 2007. Although their commercial vehicles section of the business is still expected to grow (not go backwards like many others are being forced to do) it is the level of growth that will decrease.
What’s better - Diesel or Petrol Vans?
by admin
A common discussion / argument amongst van drivers all around the country are what is best; diesel or petrol? There seems to be 2 cases here; value of performance and economy performance. In terms of price, it now looks as though there is a price difference of at least 9p – 10p a litre of diesel over petrol in UK gas stations. We know that diesel used vans costs more to maintain and service than petrol vans but has do have the advantage of being able to offer more miles to the gallon.
