Even though it is not the best of times in terms of having spare cash available, I guess that you only live once and whilst you do – you must enjoy it! Therefore, I am thinking about upgrading my car to something a bit more fuel efficient whilst keeping in line with a car that looks the business. Fortunately, I have managed to save a little bit, which was going to be used for a “rainy day”. Well, this week we are expecting rain and so I have set aside a little time to conduct some research and visit a few dealerships to see what cars they have on offer. As things stand within the automotive industry, I am at slight advantage in terms of buying as it seems the cost of cars; new and used has decreased as a result of the financial instability surrounding the country. So, I am hoping to get a good deal even though it may be that I receive less of a value for my current car that I wish to exchange. However I am sure there will be something to suit. Part of me was thinking to wait until March next year in the hope that the markets will have settled down a little. However, I am in the mood for buying and a few cars have tickled my fancy lately when passing me on the motorway. Therefore, a trip down to the local Citroen and Renault garages seems to be the thinking but before I do – a little research online won’t do any harm........ Well I am definitely buying used – not new. Whilst I am keen for an upgrade, I don’t wish to just throw my money away. Therefore, the used cars section is where I shall ply my trade over the next few days. The Renault Megane is a car that I have admired for a while, albeit from a distance and so this will be one of the cars that obtain my ultimate focus.
Follow up:
At one point I did fancy a 4x4 and was looking at the BMW X5 but with the price of petrol as it is – it kind of put me off too be honest. In terms of engine size I am hoping to get something around a 1.6 litres or 1.8 litres. At the moment, I have a 2.0 litre turbo, which guzzles fuel like a camel in a desert. I also think it would make for sensible buying should I purchase a smaller sized engine as a way of helping the environment. Apparently, most of the countries carbon pollution comes from cars so I don’t mind doing my bit. One vehicle manufacturer that I haven’t considered and maybe should do is Honda. They have an extremely good reputation for providing efficient and easily maintained cars; both new and used, and so maybe I will pay a visit to their Website and / or dealership. Impossible is nothing as they say.
